And God Said: “I Meant It For Good” – Genesis 50:15-21 – Pastor Larry Kassebaum
We often look for simple answers to complicated questions.
In reality, we face three formidable challenges, the world, the devil and our own sinful natures.
God is God
We are unlikely to realize God is all we need until God is all we have.
Joseph’s story reveals what God wants to do in us and through us.
Believing in seeing
Suffering is a great remedy for idolatry.
Hold on to the assurance that God won’t waste a crisis.
1. In the story of Joseph, where do you see evidence of:
a. A sinful world
b. The presence of the Devil
c. Joseph’s own sinful nature
2. How does Joseph’s life story illustrate the saying that “the greater the pain, the greater the gain?”
3. Joseph could have been bitter because of the circumstances he faced in Egypt. What did he do to rise above those circumstances and the temptation to see himself as a victim?
4. Joseph seemed always to be an example of what it means to be faithful to God. What might we learn from the way he faced difficult circumstances in his life? What change would that require in you, individually?
