ENDING WELL: Exploring End of Life Issues from the Christian Perspective
March 5, 12, 19, 26 | 9:30-11:00am
Led by Pastor Steve Lien
Let’s admit it, most of us are in denial when it comes to our own mortality, thinking that we will somehow avoid having to deal with issues that are often uncomfortable. In this class, we will explore these issues by studying the scriptures and providing a safe place, time and context in which to have some important discussions and perhaps make some very critical decisions.
Medicine has triumphed in extraordinary ways in modern times, but when it comes to the inescapable realities of aging and death, what medicine can do often runs counter to what it should. Christians often fail to examine these issues with the quiet confidence of those who believe in heaven and before a sudden crisis, fall or accident forces decisions better made under less stressful conditions. This class will help you talk with your family, friends and doctor about what you would like to happen if you get very sick or have a bad accident. It’s best to let them know your wishes so they don’t have to make hard choices without you, and make sure your needs are met if you get very sick. Classes will be light-hearted and non-threatening and will include the distribution of materials that can assist you with having discussions with family and friends.
Invite family or friends and SIGN UP at the Welcome Center in the lobby.
