MOMENTUM: “Promotion” 3.19.17 – Pastor Kassebaum

“Promotion” – Matthew 25:21, 28-29 & Luke 10:30-37 – Pastor Larry Kassebaum

Without a warning

Our baptism includes blessings and a willingness to be called into “active duty.”

Don’t be surprised if your Godly promotion looks like a problem.

Luke 10:36   “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

A true double cross

The first Good Samaritan was Jesus and we are the wounded traveler.

We have life and hope not because of Jesus ‘generosity but because of His sacrifice

I John 3:16 “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

Whatever it takes

When you “see it,” you “own it.”

Nothing great is ever accomplished without taking risk.

Luke 10:37 “The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

4. What role do you think guilt plays in people’s decision to “pass by on the other side?” How effective do think that approach is?

5. Why did Jesus go to such great lengths to broaden the understanding of “neighbor?”

6. What are some of the risks of being a “Good Samaritan?”

7. How would you feel about defining “playing it safe” as unfaithfulness?
