“When the Kingdom Comes” 3.25.18 – Pastor Kassebaum

HOLY WEEK is the sacred time of the year when we commemorate the last week of Jesus’ life on earth. It begins this weekend with Palm Sunday, a reminder of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

MAUNDY THURSDAY, March 29, there are two services, 4 & 6pm. The VLC Bells will be leading us in worship as we reflect on the Last Supper. This service will include special emphasis on our need to confess, receive a personal word of absolution and be renewed by receiving the body and blood of our Lord during Holy Communion.

GOOD FRIDAY services, March 30, will be held at 4 and 6pm. The choir will be sharing a cantata in remembrance of the crucifixion and death of our Lord, entitled “Hope in the Shadows.” At the conclusion of the service everyone is invited to come to the cross and place a nail in it.

“STATIONS OF THE CROSS” will be open in the Fellowship Hall from 3-8pm on Good Friday. You will find stations providing thought provoking insights and activities based on things which took place preceding Jesus’ death and burial. You are welcome to come early and stay as long as you wish, there will be plenty of places to sit and reflect on the love of Christ.

Saturday 4pm, Sunday Sunrise (6am Outdoor,) 8am, 9:30am & 11am. Holy Communion will be offered at the Saturday, 6am and 11am services. Coffee and rolls will be available in the fellowship hall following the Sunrise Service. Due to anticipated large crowds, parking, and the option of Holy Communion, we encourage you to consider the 11am service this Easter.
