NEXT TRANSITION TEAM
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim till all the world adore His sacred name.
With organ and trumpet accompaniment, those words sounded forth from several hundred voices as 15 robed and vested clergy processed down the center aisle of the sanctuary led by a crucifer who quite literally, lifted high the cross of Christ. So began the festive installation service for our new Lead Pastor, Todd Mathison.
Pastors Mike Bradley and Julie Smith, national staff of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) preached and officiated. Special guests included Pastor Lu Mathison, Todd Mathison’s father, former Senior Pastor, Larry Kassebaum, several friends and former members of the Mathisons, and a retired member Church of the Lutheran Brethren denomination. Pastor Bradley noted that two weeks before Pastor Mathison’s installation he presided at the installation of Pastor Drew Nelson, Todd and Anne Mathison’s son-in law, thereby calling attention to three generations of those who have served Christ’s church.
Clergy present, many of whom are members of Victory, joined in the laying on of hands as a prayer of blessing was prayed over the newly installed. Following the rite of installation, Pastor Mathison presided at the communion table, and clergy and spouses present distributed the elements to worshipers.
The service included trumpet and violin accompaniment for congregational singing and two chancel choir anthems. Following worship, members of the Next Transition Team hosted a reception in Fellowship Hall.
Those present for the installation service were joined by over 400 others who have watched our live-stream event!

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING UPDATE
Dear Members and Friends of Victory Lutheran:
The Psalmist put it this way:
This is the day the Lord has made!
And we are feeling the same way! Yesterday, our congregation met to vote on extending a call to our next Lead Pastor. The vote was an overwhelming yes, and we are rejoicing.
We are so excited to welcome Pastor Todd Mathison and his wife Anne to Victory. A copy of the brochure that was distributed at our meeting, which provides in-depth information about Pastor Todd and Anne, is available for your review by clicking the button below.
Thank you to all of you who were able to be present and to those of you present in spirit.
Exciting days are coming: God be praised!
Yours in Christ,
Diane Lano
Council President
