Orchard: Africa is a non-profit organization restoring hope to the vulnerable by creating sustainable change in rural African villages.

Victory Lutheran has sent eight teams to South Africa under the auspices of Orchard: Africa, a Christian non-profit established twenty-five years ago by South Africans (learn more at  t .  In 2018 Victory sent 15 people on this trip, ranging in age from 15 to 80+.  We always work through a local congregation that has been established and staffed by Orchard: Africa.  Mission teams stay in a modern, safe, guest house in Cape Town and travel daily by van, always accompanied by Orchard: Africa staff, to Khayelitsha, a township of 3 mission people on the edge of Cape Town. They taught local residents how to create horizontal, hanging, homestead gardens in order to grow their own food in an area that has little arable land.
