Prayer Ministry

A discipleship church recognizes the need to teach people how to pray whether is spontaneous prayer or an invitation to be still before God in loving silence. Prayer is simply doing what we already know how to do, but with God as the one to whom we speak and to whom we listen.

Beginning the weekend of June 8-9, we will regularly meet for a time of prayer before worship on Saturday at 3:30pm and Sunday at 7:30 & 9:00am, Rm. 11.

In Jeremiah 33:3 God invites us with these words “Call me and I will answer.” Victory has many wonderful and Christ-centered ministries. Do we pray for each of those? Could we pray for each of them? Yes, we could.

Your prayer team is inviting you to share in the opportunity to pray before the service you attend. Each week the ministries happening that week will be highlighted. Also a reminder to pray for our pastors, the congregation, the volunteers and those with special needs. In this time of renovation it is especially important that we remember what Jesus said, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.

In this time of renovation it is especially important that we remember what Jesus said, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35). For the next several months this will be on our emphasis/guide for prayer.

You are invited to join the prayer team as they pray and plan each Thursday morning at 9:30, in Room 11.

Do you feel moved to pray but hold back because you aren’t sure how to begin? Or after praying for a time, do you grow weary because you don’t see results? Or is there an obstacle that keeps you from freely praying? If this is your story, consider being matched up with a prayer mentor. A prayer mentor is someone who walks with you on your prayer journey, using the Bible as your guide. Together you will decide when and how often you meet. Please prayerfully consider making this three month commitment. Contact Kathy Heath at for more information.

Be a link in our prayer chain! The prayer chain provides our members, families, friends, and the community a way to receive immediate prayer and to be strengthened knowing that others are praying for them.
