National Day of Prayer Worship Service
Thursday, May 1 @ 10:00am
Because of the faith of many of our founding fathers, public prayer and national days of prayer have a long-standing and significant history in American tradition. This tradition will continue this year, on Thursday, May 1st as Victory Lutheran Church joins other congregations and communities from around our great nation in the 73rd observance of the National Day of Prayer.
In 1988, the law was amended and signed by President Reagan, permanently setting the day as the first Thursday of every May. Each year, the president signs a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day.
This year the theme for the National Day of Prayer comes from Romans 15:13 that reads, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (NASB)
Please plan to join us at 10:00am in the Courtyard Chapel as we gather to seek God’s will for our nation, our communities, and our church family here at Victory Lutheran.
We will be handing out a special themed Prayer Guide April 26 & 27 to guide us as we pray together as a community in Christ.
