What is a Small Group?
Small groups are a group of people that want to grow in their faith together in community with others.
When we share life together we experience the kind of deep authentic community that reflects God’s love that He has for us.
Regardless of what you are looking for in a small group, chances are there are others who share your desire for honest conversation, encouragement, and a deeper walk with God.
What is Group Time?
Did you know that 1% of your month is approximately seven hours? That’s our challenge to you. Spend 1% of your month in Group Time. That’s only 1%. Can you do that?
We believe that you were not made to go through life alone! That is why we believe that as you grow in your relationship with Jesus, we all need Group Time! Group time is time spent consistently in community, in a Small Group, Discipling Huddle, Bible Study, or Ministry Group.
We are convinced that if you embrace “The 5% Life” as a starting point, the other 95% of your life will be changed forever as you abide in Christ, connect in community, and share in the mission.

FAQ
Small groups help believers grow together in faith and offer a close-knit community where we can share real life, study the Bible, and support each other’s walk with Jesus. They create space for honest conversations about faith, prayer, and daily challenges, helping encourage one another as we become more like Christ. By sharing life together, Christians experience the kind of deep, authentic community that reflects God’s love while we grow into a deeper walk with Jesus.
1) Think of people that you already know – Golf buddies, people you play cards with, your neighbors, your co-workers, gym buddies, multi-generational friends – they do not have to currently be attending Victory or even be part of a church community. This is an opportunity
for you to share your faith with others. Are there people that you know who could benefit from experiencing life together? Invite them to join you in a small group!
2) Grab a HOST starter kit
3) Pick a date and a place to meet
4) Pick a curriculum from the list
5) Start meeting!
6) Receive your $10 HOST gift!
No! Take turns picking the curriculum (we have many suggestions; feel free to contact Pastor Denton and Renee for additional references). God gifts each of us differently. You can lead if you feel called, but you can also HOST without being the curriculum coordinator.
We are all lifelong learners. Biblical expertise is not required; a servant’s heart, open to God’s leading, is all you need!
No! Feel free to meet wherever you wish. Some small groups meet at restaurants, the park, or a common area in their neighborhood. Meeting at church may be possible, but run your ideas past Denton or Renee first so that they can check room availability.
This is your small group. Listen to how God is leading you to best meet the group’s needs. What is the makeup of your group? Do some of you work? Are you a seasonal group? Can you meet weekly or does twice a month work better? You decide!
We are better together! Get to know each other, listen to each other, and pray for each other. Ask the group what they would like to study or watch together. A list of possible resources is available on our Small Group table and will also soon be available on our website.
Both Pastor Denton Bennet and Renee Bennett are co-leading the small group ministry and will walk with you through this process. They will periodically check in with you to see how things are going, and you can feel free to reach out to them anytime with your
questions.
The typical length is 1.5 – 2 hours, but again, you and the group can determine the length and the frequency.
God’s plan for us is to do life together. But seasons for small groups ebb and flow. You may decide as a group to stay together for an extended period of time, or you may just meet together for a season. We guarantee that for however long you meet, you will be blessed by this time together if you let the Holy Spirit lead you.
No! A snack is fine depending on the time of day that you meet. Take turns providing the food. This is a wonderful way for all of you to share in your areas of giftedness.
It is always a good idea to ask your group if they have any allergies. Often, people with food allergies will volunteer to bring food alternatives.
