Put it all together
Athletes become superstars when they can put it all together. The fundamentals of the game are in them. They hit the shot consistently. They don’t have to think about it anymore. They can feel it. They just do it. Singers become rock stars when they can put it all together. The music is in them. They nail the note consistently. They don’t have to think about it anymore. They can feel it. They just do it. Mastery of anything is a synthesis of God-given abilities that have been honed by lots of rehearsal until it all becomes second nature. The performer is one with the performance. That is the level of Christianity God wants for us. He wants us to put it all together on a consistent basis. We will still miss some opportunities and sound some sour notes. We can learn from them, but we can’t dwell on them. God wants us to shake them off. He tells us to pull ourselves together in him. He sent his Son in the flesh so we know what love is. We have received God’s love. We live in God’s love. We can express God’s love to others. Love makes us one with God. “Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them” 1 John 4:16. Loving others is not something we need to think about. Loving others is not something to hesitate over. It’s our new nature. We can just do it.
Let’s pray:
Thanks for joining us today for Daily Hope from God’s Word. And remember these words from a song by a group called “Casting Crowns”: The song is entitled “Who am I?” The answer in the lyrics is: I am yours, Lord, I am yours!
