Worship Services

You have options! We offer both in-person services and online live streams of our Sunday 9:30am service, as well as all special events/services. In person worship happens Saturdays at 4pm and Sundays 8am & 9:30am. We also have a Contemporary Worship that happens every Sunday at 11am (more info here). Join us however you feel most at ease.

How should I dress?

We’re pretty relaxed about what you wear. ‘Sunday Best’ can mean different things to different people. We want you to feel comfortable and be yourself.

What about Communion?

We offer communion every week at the 8 a.m. Sunday services. We also have communion every first weekend of the month in all services. We practice open communion, so no matter your background, you’re welcome to participate!

Our Worship Services

Contemporary

Sunday @ 11:00am
Blends relevant preaching with modern Christian praise music from guitars, drums, and keyboards for a dynamic atmosphere. We strive to make worship accessible to everyone. Children’s messages are included, and starting February 9th, children ages 2–10 will be invited to their own teaching time in Children’s Church.

Children’s Church

Sunday @ 11:00am
We are offering Children’s Church for our 2-10 year olds during the 11:00am Contemporary Worship Service starting Sunday, February 9th. Children will be dismissed from the Worship Center after the Children’s Message and will be picked in the Nursery at the end of the 11:00 am service. Parents interested in Children’s Church will check in their children prior to the start of the service and will be given a name tag for themselves and their children. Two adults will be present with the children at all times. Lessons will be held in the Nursery.

Casual Traditional

Saturday @ 4:00pm
Liturgical worship in a come-as-you-are atmosphere. The pastors do not “robe up”, but the music and messages remain central to each service, and the familiar structure of traditional worship is followed.

Traditional Liturgical

Sunday @ 9:30am
Follows a clear liturgical order from the Lutheran Service Book, aligned with the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. Each season’s themes, colors, and readings guide worship. Music is central, emphasizing congregational hymns, choirs, and organ, which enrich the service with sacred and classical works.

Traditional with Communion

Sunday @ 8:00 am
Maintains a strong link to historical practices, honoring the Reformation’s legacy and enduring Christian truths. Communion is offered at all 8:00 am services. The Choir and Bell Choir regularly enrich both the 8:00 & 9:30 am services.

What Is Contemporary
Lutheran Worship at Victory?

1) Scriptural Integrity

Select praise and worship songs that are firmly grounded in biblical truth and align with Lutheran theology. Ensure that the lyrics accurately reflect the teachings and attributes of Jesus Christ, emphasizing His redemptive work, grace, and glory.

2) Gospel-Centered Lyrics

Prioritize songs that highlight the Gospel message and the person of Jesus Christ. Choose songs that proclaim His sacrificial death, victorious resurrection, and His role as Savior and Lord. Avoid songs that solely focus on personal experiences or emotions without a clear connection to Christ.

3) Theological Richness

Seek songs that convey deep theological truths about the nature of God, His attributes, and the doctrines of the Christian faith. Look for songs that express the Trinity, the Incarnation, the atonement, and other central doctrines.

4) Congregational Participation

Encourage congregational participation in praise and worship by selecting songs that are easy to sing and have memorable melodies. Ensure that the congregation can actively engage in worship through congregational singing, responsive readings, and choruses that facilitate corporate worship.

5) Musical Excellence

Strive for musical excellence in the execution of praise and worship songs. Encourage the use of skilled musicians and vocalists who are able to lead the congregation in a way that is musically pleasing and edifying. Pay attention to proper vocal technique, harmonies, and instrumental arrangements.

6) Diversity in Style and Tradition

Incorporate a variety of musical styles and traditions within the framework of conservative, traditional Lutheran worship. Include hymns, contemporary worship songs, gospel songs, and spiritual songs, selecting those that align with Lutheran theology and enhance the worship experience.

7) Integration with Liturgy

Integrate praise and worship songs into the overall liturgical structure of the worship service. Find appropriate moments within the service, such as before or after the Scripture readings or as a response to the sermon, to incorporate praise and worship songs.

8) Balanced Repertoire

Maintain a balanced repertoire of praise and worship songs, including both timeless hymns and contemporary songs. Avoid excessive focus on either extreme, striving for a blend of tradition and innovation that speaks across generations. Intentionally curate song rotation so that there is a mix in each service of familiar and new songs to be introduced.

9) Spirit-Led Worship

Foster an atmosphere of worship that is both reverent and responsive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Encourage prayers, intercessions, and moments of silence that allow for individual and collective reflection and response to God’s presence.

10) Discernment and Evaluation

Regularly evaluate the praise and worship songs being used in the congregation. Seek feedback from church members and leaders to ensure that the chosen songs are edifying, inspiring, and reflective of the congregation’s worship style and theological convictions.

GriefShare

The GriefShare Program is a 13-week series of videos that we watch each week of the meeting. Each weekly GriefShare group begins with a 30-minute video featuring respected experts on grief-related topics and helpful stories from people who have experienced loss. Their insights will help you manage your emotions, gain clarity, and find answers to your questions as you walk through the grief process. We welcome everyone who has a loss; whether it be a child or a parent or spouse.

The videos are followed by discussion. Talking with other people who understand what you’re experiencing brings great comfort, normalizes the grief experience, and offers a supportive environment to work through your grief.

Each session stands alone, so you can join anytime. Consider a single session to learn about the program.

We meet every Monday from 12:30-2:30pm here at Victory.
Check out the schedule.

We typically break for the summer. Please check schedule.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.

Stephen Ministers are trained by their congregation’s Stephen Leaders using resources from Stephen Ministries St. Louis. The training they receive in the congregation equips them to provide high-quality care to people who are hurting.

Care receivers are individuals in the congregation or community who are going through a crisis or life difficulty. Potential care receivers first meet with a pastor or Stephen Leader, who assesses their needs for care and matches them with a Stephen Minister.

After being matched with a person experiencing a life crisis, the Stephen Minister meets with that person on a weekly basis for about an hour to listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support. The caring relationship lasts as long as the need for care exists.

“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2, NRSV)
