Pastor Steve Lien was born in Windom, Minnesota, but was raised in Staten Island, New York where his father was a pastor. He moved with his family to Willmar, Minnesota when he was 14. After graduating from High School, he attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle, Washington, then traveled overseas and domestically with a six-member Youth for Christ singing team. Pastor Steve married the love of his life, Joanne Hall, daughter of missionary parents, during college. They settled in Minneapolis/St. Paul for college, seminary, and nursing school, and have since served churches in South Dakota, Texas, Iowa, Los Angeles, and Arizona. The Liens have three children and nine grandchildren.
