MISSIONS
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
GET INVOLVED
At Victory we want to be intentional about fulfilling the command of Jesus in Acts 1:8 where He calls us to be His witnesses to Jerusalem (the congregation), Judea (our community), Samaria (regionally) and the ends of the earth (globally).
As part of our commitment to this command and our way of serving others and spreading God’s word, Victory provides outreach:
• Locally, Victory serves our community through Family Promise, I-HELP, Food Pantry, and Victory Quilters.
• Regionally, we support the Navajo Christian School and Mission in Rock Point, AZ
• Globally through Orchard Africa, Lutheran World Relief, and Samaritan’s Purse.
Family Promise
Twice a year we host families at Victory for a week at a time. The prep work starts about a month in advance of a host week. The leadership team coordinates sign up sheets for volunteer positions and meal preparations. Some like to cook or donate money to cover groceries, while others prefer setting up rooms or staying overnight with our guests.
Upcoming Host Weeks: November 12-19, 2023

Victory Quilters
We meet the 3rd Tuesday and Wednesday of the month at 8:30am. Come when you can, stay as long as you can; everyone can cut, sew, pin and tie knots. You do not need to be a church or circle member to attend. Bring a friend! The quilts are donated to Navajo Lutheran Mission, Orchard: Africa and Lutheran Social Ministries. We typically break for the summer.
Call us at (480) 830-5024 to confirm dates.
Orchard: Africa
Orchard: Africa exist to equip the church to care for the vulnerable. We provide tools for leaders serving under-resourced communities to help them respond to poverty and injustice in their communities.
Their four programs are: Food & Agriculture, Care, Education and Ministry. The Church is the platform, programs are the tools and hope in Christ is the message.
Victory partners with Orchard: Africa donating materials, financial resources, and sending regularly volunteers in a mission trip to South Africa. Our most recent campaign was Own This Impact when we raised funds for the construction of an Impact Center.
Mission Trip Dates: September 5-16, 2024
Location: Mafeking, North West province of South Africa
Cost: Approximately $3,800-4,000 total which will include travel, meals, lodging and program costs (We hope to offer scholarships thru grants and/or fundraising.)
We stay at a guest house owned by Orchard: Africa that has modern amenities. We will board a van each day to drive approximately 20-30 minutes to the site of the church/mission that Victory supports.

Lutheran World Relief
Fair Trade
Victory Women support Lutheran World Relief by selling Fair Trade hand-made crafts, jewelry, coffee and tea. This is an opportunity for us to generate opportunity and income for small-scale farmers in third world countries.
When you buy Fair Trade products:
– Farmers and their communities benefit from sustainable sources of income, along with funding for things like clean water systems, health clinics and school expansions.
– We benefit not only from the purchase of quality products, but also in knowing that we made a real and lasting difference for farmers and their families around the world.
Fair trade is a movement toward a just exchange of goods. By making the choice to buy items that are fairly traded, you are taking a stand against global poverty and seeking justice for your neighbor!
