Dirk began serving at Victory at the end of 2024 as Contemporary Worship leader, and in October of 2025 happily accepted to add under his umbrella the role of Church Chaplain, a much needed position here at Victory. He has been involved in pastoral ministry for over 35 years, mostly here in Arizona but also in Washington. He graduated from Cal Lutheran with a music degree and still gets his trumpet out every once in a while to toot his own horn. He loves to serve and care for people and prefers to work with a team in order to accomplish things that are difficult to do on your own. Dirk enjoys golfing, riding mountain bikes and fishing with friends. He has a daughter and two grandchildren in Indiana. His wife Diane is a Jr. high school teacher in Mesa along with their daughter who teaches HS. Their son plays and teaches cello in Scotland. They keep a small menagerie of 1 dog, 2 cats and a large tortoise at their home in Mesa.
To equip the church to respond to poverty & injustice, thereby caring for the vulnerable using four programs: Food & Agriculture, Care, Education and Ministry. (orchardafrica.org)
