Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches,” reminding us that godliness begins not with our strength, but with abiding in Him. Paul tells Timothy to train for godliness, yet that training is never about earning God’s favor; it is the grace-shaped practice of staying connected to Christ through His Word, Spirit, and promises. Left to ourselves, we drift, but joined to Jesus, His life bears fruit in us and makes us more and more like Him.
