Thomas is not beyond Jesus’ reach, even in his doubt, because the risen Lord comes to him personally and gives what Thomas could never produce for himself. Jesus does not tell him to work up more confidence or manufacture stronger belief, but comes with His wounds, His Word, and His peace—and through that gracious encounter creates the faith He seeks. That is our hope as well: faith is not something we achieve for Jesus, but a gift He gives as He comes to His fearful and faltering people.
